Little wooden boxes (Undertaker and Lenora) Empty
PostSubject: Little wooden boxes (Undertaker and Lenora)   Little wooden boxes (Undertaker and Lenora) Icon_minitimeFri May 03, 2013 6:53 am

Undertaker hummed happily to himself as he sipped at the tea, all the while making the coffin to the measurements that he had been given. He did rather enjoy his cover story job it had to be said, after all the plain wooden boxes the likes of which his current guest was in were just appalling! No no, much better that they be buried in one of his much better ones, one of the fancy onces that he did so enjoy making.

Humming louder as he worked, Undertaker was beginning to get a little bit bored though. Perhaps, he mused to himself, it was time to remove one of the corpse's organs? After all, no one ever noticed when something small like, say, the gal bladder, was removed.

Lenora.

Engraving the name onto the plack on top of the coffin, he took a step back and looked over at the cheap and cheerful box that she was currently staying in,

"Don't worry my guest, we have an upgrade for you." he joked a little bit, cackling a little bit to himself before shaking his head and smirking at the box, "Don't be all noisy as you go in though, remember to be all polite to your staff as they escort you my young guest!"

Lenora blinked.

Well that was goo she was still able to move, which meant that she was still alive. Her chest coughed and spluttered into life again, it really hurt when someone decided they were going to stab her because she didn't give up her money. Normally she would scare them when she jumped back to life again and waved her arms around in a crazy fashion.

It seemed however that she was hit in a rather important place and they had left the knife in this time.

Groaning slightly she tried to sit up but realised that everything was dark around her for a reason, and that reason was because she was in a rather unsightly wooden coffin. This had happened a lot to her during her life time, once she had woken up in a pyramid. Although that is not where she was from originally, Egypt, she didn't even know where the first place she had hailed from was.

With a little sigh she decided she would tap on the coffin, and she did so, quite loudly, before asking in her voice which was tinged with an accent, the accent from that country she had no idea where it was;

"Excuse me but could you please let me out." she stated with a small sigh to her voice "It really is quite stuffy in here, I would appreciate it."

Undertaker was busy making himself another cup of tea when he heard the coughing noise come from the coffin that he was going to be replacing. Setting down a second cup, Undertaker suddenly got the feeling that he wasn't going to be enjoying his cup of tea alone anymore. Humming a little bit to himself, he wandered over to the occupied coffins and knocked on the lid,

"You're not supposed to cough if you're one of my guests." he teased the person inside of the little coffin, "Mmmm quite interesting how you've managed to survive... I could have sworn the knife was in your heart until I came along..."

When the slightly accented voice asked for him to let her out he hummed a little bit as he debated whether or not he should let her out. On the one hand, he wanted her to be one of his guests. But on the other hand... he really didn't want to have to go through the bother of killing her. So in the end he just tore the lid off of the top of the police-issued coffin, and smirked widely,

"What a surprise... normally people are dead when they become my guests." he joked a little bit before waving for her to enter, "So I don't suppose you want to come out and have a cup of tea yes? It's good tea and I can use it to say sorry for almost hammering you into another coffin... and stealing your liver for my collection."

Lenora blinked again, the undertaker certainly did seem to have a sense of humour, which was odd, she didn't think that people like him would do, they certainly haven't when she had encountered them before. Waiting patiently for the lid to be taken off of the coffin she merely twiddled her thumbs slightly, she wanted to keep herself occupied, it could be quite a wait if the man decided to freak out and keep her in the coffin all day long.

"It probably was, thank you very much for removing it for me." she stated with a little smile "Thank you for cleaning me up too, what a lovely dress, I would comment on you being lecherous while changing me, but, I was dead at the time."

As the lid was taken off the top of the coffin, she sighed happily, it really had been stuffy in there, and she clambered up out of the coffin as soon as she could, not wanting to spend another second in there. The amount of times she had been shoved into things like that, she'd almost been cremated once as well, now that had been quite frightening.

People were much more violent these days, they seemed to hurt anyone and everyone.

"I would like a cup of tea very much, thank you for letting me out." Lenora smiled softly "I must admit, you're very calm for someone who just saw a dead person get up out of their coffin, have you had this happen to you before or something?" she joked, with her usual sad little smile playing on her lips.

Poking at her torso she smiled that same smile again; "I don't suppose it would have really mattered if you had taken it, it would have grown back by now."

Undertaker shrugged a little bit even though right now she was completely unable to see it. After all, he had gotten a rather pretty knife out of the deal. She must have annoyed some rich people he thought to himself even as he glanced at the shiny silver knife in a display case across the room. It had become even more valuable now though - It was a great conversation starter,

"Well I am rather lecherous when the right woman comes along but I do much prefer said woman to have a pulse." he joked a little bit as he tapped the coffin idly, "You were dead at the time but you were no less beautiful my dear! It looked like you were just sleeping or resting your eyes!"

He could tell that she was happy to be free of such a confined space and for the life of him he couldn't understand why - These damned humans seemed to do their very best to end up in one of those boxes faster than they normally would have done. Shaking his head a little bit, he went over and began to pour the tea into the cups,

"Well I suppose it wasn't a problem, after all, my job is to put away the dead. You're not dead, you don't go into the ground or the box." he told her before smirking slightly as he added the milk, "You're be surprised by the amount of vampires."

When she said that it would have healed back anyway he instantly became interested. He smirking a little bit,

"Hey... I don't supose that you would be willing to donate or something?"

Lenora looked at the Undertaker and she found him to be rather interesting, he wasn't the usual type of man she ended up marrying, and she had been married several times, he was like no person she had seen before and she wondered if he might be special like she was. She had wandered the world many times to escape persecution, and she had never spotted someone who was this calm upon seeing her return to life from an injury, or fail to be infected with a disease.

"Well, thank you I suppose." she stated with a small smile on her lips "I am flattered that even when I look dead I manage to still be as pretty as possible."

As the tea was poured she took a small sip and sighed softly, she was always really thirsty when she came back to life. This tea was going to go down a treat, her platinum blonde hair fell down by her waist as she stood by the coffin she had just exited, and she looked up with a soft expression at the Undertaker. Running her hands through her hair she blinked up at him;

"You believe in vampires?" she asked interestedly "I have never seen a vampire, although, I have often thought that they must exist, after all, I exist, so why should I doubt the existence of other such beings that would otherwise be deemed as impossible." Lenora asked with a small whisper "Ah...I should be out of your hair soon enough...sorry about this."

Raising an eyebrow Lenora asked; "What is the cause I am donating to?"

Undertaker had to admit that this woman was different, and not just because she could take a knife to the chest and just cough about it later either, although he really did think that was awesome. No she just seemed a lot more worldly than any human had any reason to be. After all, humans were around for a minute speak of time, why should they seem to look like they had experience some importnant historucal event? He shook his head slightly with a little light laugh,

"Ah you're most welcome my dear!" he assured her, waving off her thanks before smirking a little bit, "Well when you're as nice as you are then it's pretty easy to be pretty damned beautiful even when you are 'dead' apparently."

He raised an eyebrow when she took so much tea in her first few sips of her coffee. Wow she must really be very thirsty to chug down hot tea like that despite being locked in a box. Or perhaps it was because of the bag? Who knew? He grinned a little bit when he caught her question about the vampires,

"Oh yeah, they're really rather annoying too actually, they seem to get it into their heads for some reason that they're the only ones who can live forever." he told her with a little snort before raising an eyebrow with a small grin, "Oh no no, I would like you to stay in my hair, I enjoy your company greatly."

When she asked what she would be donating it for he smirked a little bit and got right up close before replly,

"Why my own curiosity my dear." he told her with a wide, toothy grin, "So... liver or something else?"

Lenora couldn't help but smile a little wider, this man was very interesting and very amusing too, she was glad that she didn't have to explain away why she was waking up, or run away like hell before he could call the police on her and have her arrested or tortured or something. Running her hands through the bottom of her hair she sighed softly.

"Are you normally so complimentary to your customers?" she asked with a small smile "What is your name by the way, I keep referring to you in my head as 'The Undertaker', of course, you already know my name, I feel at a disadvantage."

All this talk of vampires was making her curiosity burn, she had seen so many books on vampires, read them all in her time but she had never actually seen one, if this man was being serious then he would have seen plenty by the sound of it. How is it that some people had all the luck, maybe if she opened her own parlour she'd find this out too?

"Do you know, of other beings that can live forever, have you met any of them?" she asked, a little eagerly before adding "If such beings exist, after all there is no proof of them, it is just to feed my own curiosity of course." Lenora stated with a little blush on her cheeks, here she was sounding like a loon to this man she'd just met!

Gasping a little when the Undertaker got so close, Lenora blinked a little;

"W-well...I suppose you can take whatever you want to, as long as you knock me out for it...but uhm, please do warn me before you get so close again." she stated with a little blush as she clutched at her tea.

Undertaker could see that she didn't quite believe her good luck in running into someone this understanding of her and her "unique" situation. The simple fact was that to him this really wasn't that unique at all. After all, he was unlikely to be killed by a knife to the chest the same with any of the reapers and demons that he dealt with everyday. Of course they had never been human and she had been,

"Of course! All of my customers are so very special, especially those who enter as guests but will leave as living people." he told her honestly before smirking a little bit, "Why my name is simple... I am Undertaker. It has always been my name, even before I took the profession. Imagine my surprise to realise that people had created a profession with my name!"

He could tell that she was fighting against the urge to ask more about his knowledge of vampires. He was one of those very knowledgable people when it came to vampires and demons and such so he would be able to help her if she would be willing to do something for him,

"Met any? Oh my poor poor dear... I am one such creature! I dare say I've been alive longer than even you my dear!" he told her with a little giggle before smirking a little bit, "Oh you won't find much evidence, demons, reapers, vampires and the like have gotten very good at covering their tracks."

He smirked a little bit when she blushed so much. Getting an idea, he hummed a little bit and walked around her, making a big show of looking her up and down,

"How about you do something to pay me back for not just burying you?" he teased her excitedly, "How about you come work for me? My clients are almost exclosively immortal in one way or another my dear!"

Lenora blinked a little and her mouth opened in surprise when she heard that almost all of the clients of the Undertaker were special, were like her, how could it be that she had waited for so long to hear from people like this and here they were right under her nose! Sighing a little bit, she couldn't help but laugh softly to herself, how silly she had been!

"I guess you must have been a pretty important person for them to name to profession after you, and you must have been around before there were people to even bury, how interesting your life must have been." she stated with a small smile on her lips, of course, her own life had been more than interesting, and to be honest, she was getting bored of it now.

Raising her eyebrow when she heard the confirmation that yes he was someone like her, Lenora felt her knuckles turn white as she grasped the tea she was holding, she didn't know what to say! She was overcome with relief and happiness after finally finding someone who might be able to answer the questions she had for so many years.

"Demons, reapers...vampires?" she asked with a small frown "Am I then...one of those three?"

The idea that she would come and work for him made Lenora pout a little bit, she was bored of working and had done her fair share! She had enough money to last her several life times without having to work a single day, but...maybe she would meet some of these things he had told her about.

"Work for you?" Lenora asked softly "Well...I have never worked as an undertakers assistant before, I don't know what would be required of me, if I could do the jobs you ask."

Undertaker laughed a little bit at her surprise at having finally found a place where people not too dissimilar to her could be found oh so easily! It was rather amusing he had to admit, causing him more than a few little chuckles. He had only ever spoken to people like that because he had only ever worked with people like that. He supposed that it all just came from living in the area,

"Of course! That's what I thought at least, turns out they weren't trying to worship me so I burnt down some villages for nothing it seemed... But yes, I was there back when people were just left where they fell. It was rather unorganised." he joked a little bit, enjoying the fact that her sense of humour seemed to be within keeping with his, "So when were you born? Roughly of course."

He chuckled a little bit when she seemed to react to each and every word that he spoke. It was rather amusing to be honest but also rather... fulfilling. He was telling a regenerator about the nature of her life and her people, something that she had never been told by anyone, ever,

"Yes indeed, those are the three non-human types." he agreed before shaking his head, "Oh no no. You're a rare one, a regenerating human. Normally either your mom of dad was one of the above. They should have stuck around to teach you but... I guess you were born before that rule."

Undertaker knew that the job itself would just be a front for her to meet up with other types of immortals. When she asked what would be required of him he shrugged a little bit,

"Greet people, meet them." he told her with a lop-sided grin, "And learn more about the other types of immortals, they are your peers after all!"

Lenora smiled softly when she thought that she was going to be able to meet all of the people she had been looking for all this time, she thought that she was going to take the job without even really to have to think about it. She had been wanting this for so long it was really a no brainer, although she didn't really have any dresses or outfits suitable to wear for a job like this.

"People back then really did appear to be focused on burning anything that they didn't understand, I learnt that lesson the hard way." she stated with a small smile on her lips "When was I born...I uhm...I don't really remember a long long time ago, I don't remember when I was born, the first thing I remember is the reign of the Egyptians."

When she heard that she was human her heart beat a little faster, she was so glad that she was able to keep her humanity intact it would be awful for her if she turned out to be some horrible beast that she had never thought herself to be. To be honest she didn't remember her parents, so either they had died, and stayed dead, or they had abandoned her.

"A regenerating human...I already guessed that's what I was." she stated with a little sad laugh "Although I would be glad of the chance to meet other immortals by working as your assistant so I will gladly accept your offer Undertaker, thank you for this opportunity."

Lenora bowed low, allowing her hair to fall in front of her face; "I would like very much to learn more about you, if you would not mind telling me."

Undertaker took offence to the idea that he was anything like the people who had tried to burn Lenora - he hated cremation with a passion. After all, it was terrible for business and for grave robbers and he had been a grave robber, working the midnight hours, before and ashes didn't give organs, which was what he so often went graverobbing for,

"Yes well I have never tried to burn anything living or dead, I try only to burn property and even then only when it's really bad... of if I can get away with it." he joked a little bit before humming and stroking at a beard that had never been there, "Well that means you should only be about 100 years before then. Judging by your accent... russian plains in some nomadic tribe. Don't worry, you'll forget these things because it was so long ago."

He tilted his had to the side slightly, having seen her growing a little bit happier with the revelation of what she was. Perhaps she was really happy that she was actually just an extension of the human race and not some strange deviation instead,

"Yes well you'll meet them almost everyday if you work here my dear! They seem to be drawn to me... do I have a magnetic personality?" he asked her with a little wink before rubbing at his facial scar in thought to himself, "Thank you for joining my tiny little team! Just you and me against the hordes of our guests!"

When she bowed to him he blushed slightly and waved his hands at her in an embaressed manner, "Lenora, there's no need for all the bowing... I'll have lots of fun teaching you what it is you wish to learn after all!"

Lenora couldn't help but think that perhaps he had taken it too personally when she told him that she had almost been burnt alive, running her hands through her hair she decided not to comment on it because she didn't want to offend him any more than she had done already. He was her employer now, and she wanted to make sure that she respected him as such.

"Russia hm?" she asked with a small hum "I haven't been back there recently...I had always wondered what my accent was I suppose I would have asked someone that much, but, there aren't many Russian people around in England so nobody would really know." Lenora sighed lightly, shrugging her shoulders.

When he asked if he had a magnetic personality Lenora laughed softly she didn't think that he did, she would even bet that his personality didn't exactly draw in the customers, but they had nowhere else to go and so came to him, or they realised that he was the best and came back for repeat business. But the wink, made her smile softly and blush a little, he was really very strange.

"I am not sure about the magnetic personality, you seem to be a little odd compared to the mass of humans out there, but, maybe you do draw in people like us." she stated with a little shy smile "But I am happy to have been drawn here, even if I did have to get stabbed to get here." Lenora smiled gently.

Looking up at Undertaker, blinking a little and wondering what all the fuss was for, Lenora laughed softly and she stood up from her bow; "Nonsense you are my employer now and I will respect you as such, it is only right, and, you're my elder, so I must respect you for that too."

Undertaker knew that he probably shouldn't have taken it as some kind of personal attack when she spoke about burning people. After all, how was she to know that he had burnt some people over the many years he had been visiting the realm of his guests. He smirked a little bit when she seemed to only peg where she was originally from because of what he had said. He grinned a little bit when she said she had always wondered where her accent was from,

"Oh that's normal, immortal humans tend to be pushed away from their land of origin, like a reminder that they're not as immortal as the rest of us is bad to them." he said with a little shrug before laughing, "Ah there are many Russians in England but none of them are here happily or legally so they tend to be involved with the underground."

He didn't take offence to being laughed at since, on this occassion, she was right to laigh. He smirked a little bit when she ended up complimenting him on his ability to draw people like them in. He noticed her blush and grinned happily at knowing he was the cause for it,

"Well I'll take the compliment regardless my dear! I do so love to eat compliments!" he told her with a happy little grin before smirking a little bit, "And I too am glad that you wound up as one of my guests, if only because it let me meet you."

He blushed a little bit when she still insisted on bowing before him for being her elder and her employer. Both were true but he was easily embaressed by such actions, "Alright, you don't have to bow and be so formal though... you'll make me blush!"
