This shit again (David and Vikki)

David really hated chemical companies.

Why did he hate them so very much? Well that was simple. He had gotten to the aircraft carrier with Vikki and the other immune survivors and everything had gone fine.

Right up until some asshole from a corporation had decided that they were all going to become his test subjects to look for a cure. As a member of the WHO, David had been given the chance to be the one experimenting or be experimented on. He refused to help and so had been experimented on like the others.

It had been hellish and that was just from what he could remember because, honestly, he had lost a lot of time to all the drugs they were constantly pumping them with. Groaning in pain, he pulled the IV out of his arm with a wince.

Always hated those things.

Before he could pull himself up out of his bed the ship lurched, sending him crashing to the floor. Pushing himself to his feet, he began to pull the IVs out of the other survivors to help them wake up. Finding Vikki, he cursed and limped over to her bed, detaching her from the IV and patting her cheek gently as he looked around the room, all the doors firmly closed,

"Vikki... Vikki come on wake up, it's David." he called to her before looking around at the sound of an all-too familiar scream. He swallowed and began to help Vikki out of the bed, "Come on Vikki... I get the feeling we need to be leaving now!"

Vikki had been in her personal hell for the last...however many hours.

She had numerous quarts of blood taken from her body without her consent, she had been injected again and again with the virus until she could take no more and passed out, and honestly she thought she had felt one of those medical officers copping a feel when they thought she was out for the count.

What had made it all the worse was that David, as a Member of WHO hadn't agreed to help and then rescued her and their other friends from their captive state. Or at least tried to make things a little bit more hospitable for them here.

Fasing in and out of consciousness was a big part of her day and Viktoria right now was thankfully drifting on the edge of sleep, so when she felt David pulling her IV out, she was very quick to snap back into reality besides being a little bit groggy from not being fully awake for quite a few hours.

Already there were screams permeating the air and Viktoria was scared once more, this ship was supposed to be their life line and it had been nothing but a damnation. At least they were going to be getting off it sometime soon, whether by crashing or by getting one of the boats themselves and making it off.

"Okay, I'm coming!" she whispered softly as she hopped off the bed and followed David with her hand firmly in his own so that they didn't become separated "What's happening? How did the ship get infected aboard, it seemed so safe!" Vikki gasped as she heard more of the familiar screams of the dying and of the dead.

"W-what do we do?" she asked frantically "Should we find somewhere safe or get on a boat of our own and make our own way? If there's a storm outside we wont last on our own in such a small lifeboat."

The rest of the group of immune survivors (including some Australian solider who had been stationed on an island next to the last one) had taken the room apart to try and find some weapons that they could use until they found something better. And they were bound to find something better since this was a bloody military ship, there were bound to be guns on this ship at the very least. Being handed a small knife and a heavy piece of piping, David blinked in surprise when Viktoria immediately woke up after having the IV removed.

He pressed the knife into her free hand for her to take it, his own free hand now gripping the pipe he'd been given,

"I've got no idea... I just woke up because the drugs ran out in my IV. Whatever has happened has been happening for a few hours now, otherwise the bags would have been changed." he told her over the sounds of the screaming, making his way to the door while holding Viktoria's hand tightly in his own, "We need to try and get to some other survivors..."

When she asked what they should do he honestly had to pause and think about it a bit. What were they going to do? What could they do? Hell, what was even going on on this god damned boat?! As they entered the corridor a small group of the undead began to stumble towards them. Smashing the head of one of them in with his pipe, he swallowed heavily,

"We need to find some soliders or marines or whatever the fuck they are." he decided quietly, "This storm would destroy a small boat so we need to try and make our way to the control room of this boat. It's big and strong enough to survive the storm and maybe even a crash landing... up the stairs I think... think you can make it?"

Viktoria was afraid because she didn't know what was going on, David didn't know either though so they should do their best to try and find out what they were doing together. Rather than put all of the pressure on one of them to decide what to do, all of the survivors were in the same boat and they needed to work together to get off of this death ship.

The way they were holding hands worked wonders to reassure her and Viktoria frowned softly as she tried to focus her attention onto a way of getting out, the knife poised in her hand with ease, like before all of this it would have been easy to hold a pen.

"A few hours... that means that there aren't going to be many survivors left here on the boat..." she stated softly "The control room sounds like it is the best place to go, it is the most secure and anyone who would have survived would have gone there."

As they all stepped out into the corridor, Viktoria took her zombie out with ease, smashing the small knife into its head and making it fall to the ground. Just because it was easy though, didn't mean that she had gotten used to it and she watched the blood oozing out onto the carpet.

"I can make it." she whispered softly "We are all going to help each other, right?" she asked the rest of the survivors but eventually she turned her head back and looked at David, wanting him to feel reassured most of all "Autobots, let's roll out!" she joked with a little laugh, before jumping over the dead carcasses and making her way slowly, and quietly down the echoing corridor of the ship.

David was really rather concerned that he had felt more secure with the heavy pipe in his hand than he had done behind all the heavy metal doors with massive water tight locks. Was it odd that he felt better smashing heads in than hiding from the undead? Yeah it probably was but that was just how it was going right now. Banaoi had forced them all to get used to not only killing something but killing something up close and personal most of the time, since guns had been in short supply back on the island.

He had to admit that Viktoria had a point about no one being alive after the first few hours but at the same time he felt the need to point something out,

"Let's not give up hope... these guys are military professionals and they've got guns and shit. Let's at least hope some of them survived..." he told the group before nodding slightly, "Maybe we'll even run across that Serpo guy... anyone else up for pushing him into a room of the Infected and closing the door?"

The zombies... went down like sacks of flour. Was it just him or did these zombies seem a lot less dangerous (durable) than the ones they had been taking out by the time they reached the prison? Shrugging it off, he laughed with the others as he followed Viktoria with them,

"Autobots huh?" he smirked a little bit at that, "I was never into that cartoon, I was more into He-man and all that."

Reaching a door he assumed was an exterior door, David was instantly drenched and torrential rain hammered at his entire body, drenching him to the bone in seconds. He swore loudly over the sound of the rain before adding, with a grin,

"By the power of greyskull!" he joked loudly as he stepped out onto the massively wet and slippery deck. Seeing a lot of dead soldiers, he cursed before smashing their heads in, just to make sure. Was it bad that he had yet to throw up about doing that? He reached down and liberated a pistol and an assault rifle from one soldier. He passed the rifle to Viktoria, "Pillage the dead... they aren't going to be needing it anymore."

Viktoria couldn't help but really doubt that many of the soldiers were going to be left alive after what she had heard through the door, if anyone had been left alive they would have gotten smart and got on the helicopter to get away from this goddamn place as fast as humanly possible! Or at least that is what she would have done.

Deciding that it was probably better to stay quiet while they were scoping out the corridors, Viktoria merely smiled broadly at the laughs that the other group gave to her comment, she seemed to always be able to make them laugh and she was thankful for that. In times like these you needed to be able to laugh about something.

When David reached an exterior door Viktoria waited for him to open it and when he did she almost wanted to cry out as the cold air and water immediately hit her square on. Shivering as she made her way across the deck, the knife becoming slippery in her hands due to the vast amount of torrential rain that was falling on her.

"Thank you!" she cried over the sounds of the storm, taking out some of the ammo from the soldiers pockets she shoved them in the pocket of her dress and continued to move forwards with the rest of the group "Oh sugar butties!" she cried out, pointing to one of those freaking huge zombies on the path ahead of them "We're going to use up a lot of ammo getting past this guy!"

Loading and aiming her rifle, Viktoria began to take shots at the vital areas of the zombie as it came lumbering towards them and she was relieved that with the help of everyone else they managed to down it and the other tag along regular zombies that had accompanied it.

"Come on...the control room is just ahead isn't it? I can see people there!" she cried out as she pointed up a couple of levels to where she could see other gunshots being fired "It looks like theyre in trouble up there!"

David had almost forgotten how much he loved the rain but even now, getting drenched by the downpour, all he could do with grin a little bit. Getting rained on almost constantly? Reminded him of home back in Greenwich to be fair. Of course it had never been that bad back there and there was less chance of death but all things were relative were they not?

He was loading his new pistol when Viktoria cried out a warning for both him and the others about a large zombie headed their way with several hangers on,

"Got it!" he called out and aimed just in time to take down one of those running zombies with a well placed headshot. Emptying his entire clip into the bigger zombie, and action copied by everyone else in the group, he groaned when the thing finally slumped over dead. Moving closer, he took the money from the creature's wallet, "Never know when it'll come in handy."

Seeing that the control room had more zombies outside it, along with Hardy and other soldiers trying to get fend them off, David nodded to Viktoria,

"Come one lets go rescue some soldiers!" he joked a little bit before he began to provide covering fire with his pistol to help thin the ranks of the undead. He threw his pistol away when it was empty and took a shotgun from a fallen soldier. The dead outside the control room were dead now but there were still more in the control room itself. He turned to Hardy, "Hardy what the fuck is going on? Where's the chopper?"

Hardy scowled a little bit and order his men to secure the area before sighing,

"Look... that blood rat Serpo took off in the chopper - it's gone." he told them simply before gesturing to the control room, "There's a set of ladders that leads down into there... we need to clear out the room and all get inside. The boat is gunna crash into the island if we don't move it. And if it does anyway... it's defensible. But only two of you could fit in..."

David turned to Viktoria and grinned,

"Up for saving the whole group Vikki?"

Viktoria couldn't help but think that things were never going to be normal for any of them now that they had seen a world like this, they didn't seem to be able to escape it and now they were trapped on a boat full of these infested things. Of course she was stopped in her suicidal monologue by David, one of her primary reasons for living and by Logan squidging her shoulder with a friendly look on his face.

Obviously she had had her kicked bunny look on.

"Awwww man I knew that this wasn't going to be my lucky day and now look what happened." she pouted softly "More zombie infested freaks and no chopper to get away from them all in."

Extremely glad that everything seemed to be okay now that they had helped to sway the undead outside the bridge Viktoria took a few moments to just take everything in, before she realised that her help was still needed and she sighed softly.

It was times like these she really regretted being the smallest member of the group. Maybe she should eat some big carbs and then she wouldn't be able to fit into all those horrible small places they always shoved her.

"Fine." she sighed softly "Not like I have much of a choice...but warm clothes afterwards would be preferable, and tea...yes...tea." Viktoria hummed happily before snapping back into the moment and reloading her rifle with more of the ammo that she snatched up from the bodies by her feet. Murmuring swift 'sorries' to each one as she went.

"I'm ready. Let's boogie." Viktoria stated with a firm nod as she made her way to the set of ladders, all ready to go and face the mass of zombies that were most likely inside.

David had to admit that things seemed to be looking up simply because they had found the surviving soldiers and Hardy. Before, back on the island, they had never been this lucky. Police officers had been useless back on the island and if there had been any army presence it had all been local and it had all fallen to pieces pretty damn quick. He smiled reassuringly at Vikki and Logan also gave her a little comfort.

Logan and David's eyes caught and they both nodded to each other, determined to stop her from feeling too down about this whole thing.

"Yeah well what do you expect when you're dealing with fucking chemical company execs? Serpo was bound to screw us over..." he muttered before laughing, "But he's no better off. Can you imagine flying in this weather?"

David could tell that she didn't like the fact that she was going to have to be one of the ones going into the control room. He was going too but he understood her hesitation none the less. He gave her a one-armed hug even as he reloaded the shotgun he'd lifted from one of the dead soldiers,

"Look on the bright side Viktoria... it's dry in there." he joked a little bit before nodding in agreement, moaning slightly as he remembered the taste of tea on his tongue, "Tea... god it's been do long since I've had tea!"

Taking a deep breath at the edge of the ladders, he grinned and decided to go first. Holding onto the sides of the ladder for a moment... he let go, sliding down into the control room quickly. Moving away from the ladder, the shotgun flipped up to take one of those running infected straight in the chin. The captain seemed to have come back as a bigger zombie but he was stupid, slow, so David decided to get a desk between him and the captain quickly so that he could take potshots at the thing's head without it getting him.

The captain collapsed and David immediately looked around for Viktoria and the other zombies left in the room,

"Vikki... you alright Vikki?"

Logan was the first one of the others down (although the others swiftly followed),

"Darlin' wher' you hidin' at girl?" he asked as he began to pull zombie corpses out of the way. He grinned at Viktoria, "Knew yer kicked ass Vikki."

Viktoria was steeled and ready to start fighting any of those things that came at her, and she was ready to make sure that she defended David if he needed it, although he kicked a lot more ass than she did so it was probably going to work the other way around more than anything. Waiting for David to take the ladder down first, she quickly scrambled down after him after sending all of the others a look of reassurance.

Even though inside she was feeling no reassurance herself, she was bricking it actually.

Taking out a flashlight she had found she placed it on top of her gun and immediately began to shoot anything and everything that came running at her multiple times. In fact she thought that was a pretty good way to tackle things around here now that everything seemed to be wanting to tear chunks out of her.

Inside she was chanting; one zombie down, three zombies down, four, now six.

After a few panting breaths she stopped, and realised that they had all been taken out.

Sitting down behind a large container box she tried to stop herself from shaking too much, and gain her composure back before facing the others. Hearing the rest of the group enter she popped up from behind the box with a light smile on her features.

"I'm fine, or as fine as you can expect me to be after decending into a dark hole full of freaks..." she stated, trailing off as she looked outside of the window "I'm cold."

Frowning, she began to look around for useful things and pulled out a rather worn and battered, yet still working, iPod from a pocket.

"Oh cool music...its not a cup of tea but it'll do." she smiled softly, placing it in her pocket with a satisfied smile on her lips "Is everyone else okay, did we manage to do the thing we needed, the others can take over from here right I'm beat and I think...those drugs might be doing a number on me." Vikki murmured, sitting down on one of the boxes.

And that was how you took down a room full of zombies!

God damn they had kicked some ass!

They had kicked so much ass that... ah crap the room was spinning.

Falling to the ground from the dizziness, he moaned in pain as a rather sudden headache hit him. What a time to get a headache eh? Shaking his head a little bit, he was grateful for the help that Sam B provided in helping him to his feet and walking him over to where Viktoria was leant against a container box. As he was set down, he chuckled a little bit after thanking Sam B,

"I have to admit... we kicked ass back there Viktoria." he told her without any hesitation, a large grin in place, "Especially you. Now come on... move a bit closer and we can try that 'huddle together for warmth' thing you know?"

Logan came over to them after all of the immune survivors, plus Hardy and about five or so soldiers, were inside the place was locked up tight. He sighed happily as he sat down near Viktoria and David, handing them an open bottle of whiskey,

"It ain' no tea but this shit's better than nothing am I right?" he told them with a grin before smirking a little bit, "But anyway, you guys done good. 'specially you Vikki. Now don' worry none... we locked this place up tighter than a nun's asshole!"

David rolled his eyes with a smirk, "Charming."

"Think yer funnier do yer?"

"I know I am. After all, I might as well be the God Damn Iron Man!"

Both men laughed a little as they shared the alcohol with Vikki as well, falling into a comfortable silence for a few moments.

Viktoria didn't really know much about kicking ass, to be honest she had always been a sort of quietly spoken artistic girl before all of this had happened, a photographer in her prime. So ass kicking was never really on the agenda for her, but, it would seem that now it was something she had a calling for, and that was good because without it she was just dead weight to the rest of the group.

"Thanks David, but, I thought you were really brave going down first, I'm glad that you did I think I would have been to scared too unless someone had pushed me!" she laughed softly as she tried to ignore the bodies around them and the smell of the decay "Huddling for warmth? You could just ask for a hug you know." Vikki teased.

Sticking her tongue out she did move a little bit closer to David and then when Logan came and joined them sitting on her other side, she felt like she could begin to know what warmth was after being so thoroughly rained on and blown about in the wind out there. It was supposed to be tropically warm here for gods sake!

"Oh no thank you." she stated in return to the offer of alcohol "It makes me dehydrated and with feeling woosy getting a headache is not a good idea...is it David?" she asked, making a pointed look at David and the fact he had keeled over not five minutes ago but was drinking the alcohol anyway.

The reassurance from Logan made Vikki smile a very concentrated small happy smile, and she leant her head on his shoulder, the shivering stopping for a short while;

"Thanks." she murmured softly, feeling like she could drift off right now, these two guys were her security blankets and the army guy wasn't doing too badly in her estimations of protection either.

David could tell that out of all of the immune survivors, it was Viktoria who and himself who had changed the most. He had gone from a job behind a desk and such at the WHO to a zombie killer and Viktoria had gone from being an artistic photographer to someone who could cut a skull in half with a flimsy knife, to make sure the enemy didn't get back up,

"Brave and stupid are very close to each other." he joked a little bit before grinning a little bit, "Ah but where's the fun in just straight up asking? Although I think I might need a hug soon... also I think that what we all need... is some sleep that isn't drugged."

Logan nodded in understanding at her reasons, having understood the logic behind them perfectly. But he was still the one with the whiskey, drinking it straight from the bottle. After all, why should he be worried? He was sat down now and was protected from going overboard. So let him get blind drunk after only a few minutes if that was what people were feeling,

"No... alcohol is very bad for you if you have lost a lot of blood too." David admitted with a small sigh, "It'll affect you for a lot longer I do believe."

Logan smiled when she rested her head against his shoulder to rest. He quite liked that one actually. He liked it when people rested against him like this. He... he paused and looked to his other side, where David was mimicking Viktoria's position with a cheeky grin,

"The fuc' you doin'?" he asked the doctor, getting a wider grin, "Look that shi' works for Vikki cus she can be cute an' sexy..."

David pouted a little bit and turned to Vikki,

"You think I can be cute AND sexy right Vikki?"

Viktoria thought that she was enjoying chatting with people a lot more than she did before all this happened, because she might not get the chance to talk to them again in a few short minutes and so she was just happy that she would be able to stay with her friends for a few moments. It was a definite, Logan and David were her closest friends through this and she was glad that both of them had made it through this death ship still alive.

"Oh yes I would like very much to have some sleep..." she stated with a soft sigh "Although the drugged sleep was kind of nice I didn't have any nightmares. I doubt that we are going to do much resting tonight though with this storm and all of these zombies flitting about."

Deciding that it might be best to stop talking about the zombies and their current predicament, Viktoria smiled gently and poked David in the arm;

"Why have you got to be such a nerd David?" she asked playfully "You could just say that it's not cool to drink it you don't have to give a reason why."

The small smile that Logan gave when she rested her head against her shoulder was enough of a signal that she could carry on the action and she wouldn't get moved, or teased for continuing. After all she did love being around the two of them and she didn't get to be close physically often, so she was taking advantage of that.

David and Logan's banter made her giggle and Viktoria shook her head, sticking her tongue out.

"No sorry David, that talent is reserved only for me. So, you have to be one or the other." she stated with a little laugh "Or neither and just leave the sexiness and cuteness to the professionals here." Viktoria gestured to Logan and herself.

David could see that both Logan and Viktoria were getting rather attached to the idea of sleeping right now and so was he. But he didn't want to go to sleep right now. With the drugs still in their systems any sleep they had would be almost unnaturally deep and he didn't want to risk the idea that they wouldn't wake up fast enough to deal with a threat or something like that,

"Yeah but let's hold off on sleeping for just a little bit longer." he suggested with a small sigh, "We should wait until the drugs have less of a hold on us. We don't want to end up sleeping too deeply now do we? Might not wake up fast enough or something."

When she poked him in the arm and questioned him about his nerd-like ways he put on a mock pout and turned his nose up in a joking manner,

"Well I never!" he declared before smirking a little bit, "Because I am a nerd Vikki. Though I prefer the term 'genius'... I don't think you'd call me that though now would you?"

Logan laughed a little bit at the way that Vikki was handling David and the doctor sighed dramatically before moving around to Viktoria's other side, resting his head on her should much like how she was doing to Logan,

"Well then I suppose I'll just have to perfect some form of 'nerdy sex appeal' now won't I?" he joked a little bit before smirking, "I don't suppose you like the ass-kicking-nerdy types?"

Viktoria knew that David was just saying these things for her own good but really she didn't want to hold off sleeping, she wanted to fall asleep right now and not wake up for a good week or so. A little mini coma is what she wanted to experience right now. Although she knew what he was saying made sense so she had to just suck it up and pout it out of her system because nothing else would be happening.

"Killjoy." she sighed softly but Vikki had a soft smile on her lips "If we hold out for the sleep it will seem so much more rewarding when we finally do get it, where do you think we're going to be heading now then? We can't stay on the ship when it has this much damage on it, not for long anyway."

Unable to stop a little giggle, Vikki shook her head and turned her head away from Logans arm to just look at David with a pointed expression;

"I would call you a genius if you could make some tea with the things you can find in this room, or if you can tapdance to 'La Bamba' while saying the alphabet backwards..." she giggled lightly "Can you do any of those things?"

The way that he rested her head on his shoulder made Vikki sigh softly, in a contented manner, and she raised one of her hands to softly play with David's hair, it always relaxed her but Logan was hardly going to do it now was he? This little hugging session was probably seriously demanning him, in his perspective anyway.

"I don't know actually, I've never met one before. So you'll have to let me know when you have that perfected now wont you?" she laughed, stopping playing with his hair as she snuggled up more to Logan, he was bigger and more muscled and so warmer than David, commenting rather sleepily she smiled up at him "Hmmm has anyone ever told you, you are very comfortable."

David knew that neither Viktoria nor Logan really appreciated his feelings on the matter of not sleeping right now. He knew that to sleep now might actually mean death for them but he recognised it was only a slight possibility. Logan yawned a little bit and shook his head,

"Hey man I've tak'n plen'y a sleepin' pills over the years and I know what it feel like." he told David with a grin before turning to Viktoria, "Yer should be good to go if you can feel yer toes and fingers and all that you know? They had us on heavy shit."

Logan laughed a little bit at David but David just smirked a little bit and hummed as if thinking about something intently,

"Well I can't make tea our of electrical wires..." he commented, a bit disappointed, "But I can tapdance and I know that I can say the alphabet backwards. I'd offer a demonstration but the fact is that the ship is moving too much and I'd end up look like some kind of... what's the phrase..."

"Drunk'n three leg'd dog?" Logan supplied helpfully, getting a mild glare from David that made Logan whisper to Viktoria, "I thin' that means yea'..."

David hummed quietly at the way she played with his hair and was quick to return the favour. Something that Logan saw and was genuinely confused by. After all, why would David be doing that? Didn't he know how effeminate it made him look to be doing that? Maybe he did... maybe he didn't care what he looked like now that the world had gone to shit.

Smirking a little bit, he nodded his head a bit,

"Oh yea' peopl' say I'm comfortabl' all the tim'... apparent'y tha' happ'ns when yer get muscl's an' let them fad' a bit." he told her honestly before grinning a little bit and wrapping an arm around Viktoria as David sighed before laying down to put his head in her lap. As Logan held her he sighed contently, happy to just be able to watch the rain hitting the windows without a care, "Suppos' they'll hav' te drop us off on some islan' somewher' do yer thin'?"

Viktoria was more than a little bit shocked when she heard that David knew how to tap dance while saying the alphabet backwards, when they were somewhere safer she would insist on seeing him do that but until then she was going to have to make do with the rather amusing image of it going around and around in her head.

"I would love to see that some day, so I'll hold you to your word on that demonstration of yours." she laughed with a happy little smile, beginning to feel an awful lot better about the situation they were in now that she had some time to sit down and relax herself "I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself in your demonstration so on dry land it shall be."

Giggling a little bit when Logan finished David's saying, Viktoria nodded her head and agreed with his assessment of what David would look like trying to do that in here; "I concur, I believe he would look exactly like that if he were to try and do it now."

Purring softly when David began to play with her hair, Viktoria was so very glad that he was doing so, even with it still damp she was very sensitive to having her hair played with, it made her relax and she needed to be relaxed right about now.

Happy when Logan wrapped his arm around her, Viktoria wrapped one of hers around his waist and hugged him to her with a small sigh, of course she didn't much care why he was comfortable at the moment but she appreciated him explaining it anyway. Gently she poked his still rather muscular torso and frowned;

"They still seem pretty existant to me, of course, my rad six pack needs a bit more work to it, but I'll get back on that at the gym at home." she teased with a sly smirk, playing with David's hair still as he moved to lie in her lap "I would not trust being on an island around here...maybe they could drop us off somewhere mainland?"
